Now unleash your inner ‘Robinson Crusoe’ and live the dream. Wake up to bird song, grab a coffee and walk down to your dock to sit and sip while watching the herons lift off the lily pads and mink swim by on their morning rounds. Breathe in the pine scented air…your holiday has started.
At Honey Bee Island, you will live in a charming, historic hand adzed Adirondack styled log cabin with full river views from every window, provided with every luxury. Dive off the dock, canoe around the islands, cast your line or bask in the sun and work on your tan. At the “Bee” in the very heart of the Thousand Islands, you can enjoy this unique private experience yet still be within minutes of grand turn of the century castles in the center of a celebrated boater’s paradise with a winding necklace of glittering jewels.
Honey Bee is a beautiful private island rental nestled in the very heart of the 1000 Islands(1865 enchanting islands to be precise) which dot the shores of St. Lawrence River. It is reachable by boat in 8 minutes from the quant village of Ivy Lea or 15 minutes from Rockport Ontario. Just 15 minutes to Boldt Castle, or 20 minutes to Alexandria Bay, NY. Boat rentals are available locally at a reasonable cost.
Set in a tranquil bay, bordered by the St. Lawrence Islands National Park, the newly restored 134-year-old hand adzed log cabin enjoys spectacular sunsets and views in all directions. The property is a 2 story, 2 bedroom cabin with all the comfort and amenities of a luxury home, yet on your own private island. It provides a unique holiday off the beaten track, in a extraordinary part of the world, where you are the master of your own time and space. If you are looking to rough it, this is the wrong place.
A private island is the perfect remedy for anyone seeking adventure and escape with utter privacy yet without isolation. The river is lovely for fishing and swimming, with summer water temperatures usually in the mid 70s as there are several natural underwater warm water ‘springs’ near the dock. At Honey Bee, you enjoy water so clear you think that you are swimming in an aquarium.
Numerous water toys such as swim floats, noodles and an assortment of life jackets are provided at your holiday cottage. Boats, Jet Ski’s and kayaks are available for rent nearby for our guests' enjoyment. Paddle our canoe through wilderness routes in the nearby wildlife refuge or fish in a world-class angler's paradise on this huge body of water.
The cabin is tucked away under pine and oak trees. Hearing the water lapping on the rocks through the open screened windows at night, makes for a restful sleep. Waken to the songbirds and watch the sunrise over Hill Island while sipping your morning coffee out on the deck. Relaxing on your own private Island, it's just ..ahhhhhhhh! Yet, all conveniences are just minutes away. Supermarkets, restaurants, liquor stores, post office, churches, pharmacy, just everything including a hospital is available within minutes in Alexandria Bay directly by boat to their respective docks or by car to Gananoque.
